AMCI: A History of Excellence in Medical Coding Education

Founded in 2014, the Absolute Medical Coding Institute (AMCI) has committed to providing the best medical coding education available. Since its inception, history AMCI has prepared thousands of students for the CPC®, CCS-P®, and CCS® medical coding exams, achieving one of the nation’s highest exam pass rates. Our programs are known for equipping students with the tools and confidence to excel in the medical coding industry.

In 2015, AMCI launched a free comprehensive coding course on YouTube, which attracted over 3,000 students worldwide. This initiative helped shape our mission of making high-quality coding education accessible to everyone.

By 2017, AMCI had developed several trademarked techniques to enhance exam speed and accuracy, including:

• CHUN™: AMCI’s signature CPT® manual annotation technique.
• Keyword Concept: A method to simplify the certification exam scenario-solving process.
• Facts to Remember/Guidelines to Remember (FTR/GTR): Simplified explanations of CPT® procedure coding guidelines.

• ICD-CM Flip: A learning tool for understanding ICD-10CM-specific coding guidelines.

Today, AMCI continues to innovate and grow. Our students consistently achieve a 95% exam pass rate, setting the standard for coding education. AMCI also offers group forums, simulated timed certification exams, weekly live webinar classes, and access to our Learning Management System (LMS), MCG™ manual, and boot camps.
